Another Temple Crumbles

The presence of the black metal supergroup project known as Temple of Perdition has called it quits, much to everyone’s shock and dismay.

The band, who formed in 2017, recorded a demo as a three-piece: Benaiah on vocals, Ya’akov Nahash on guitars, bass, keyboards, and clean vocals, and Jonas Heikkinen (Renascent, The Slave Eye, Angel Of Sodom) on drums. Shortly after the demo, the band hired on Corey Sorrenti (ex-Vanishment) on bass and the four-piece recorded their debut album Tetragrammaton.

Soon thereafter, the band signed with Vision of God Records. In 2019, Benaiah and Heikkinen departed, with a new lineup taking over their place. Heavyweight veterans Ronny Hansen (Antestor, Vaakevandring, Grave Declaration) and Luke Renno (Crimson Thorn, Taking the Head of Goliath) took over vocals, Shelby Brown (Trond) stepped in on drums, and Henna Ojala (Varda) added female vocals to the group. However, Brown only remained for a few days before Steve Reishus (Crimson Thorn, Taking the Head of Goliath) filled the drumming throne. With this new lineup, they recorded the EP, Homage to the Dead.

The band, however, under the leadership of Nahash, has decided to disband the project, as he could not manage it any longer. With their abrupt disbanding, the project released two final goodbye tracks, titled “Ode to Yah” and “Wvil“.
